Without proper space to introduce the subject of twins, found fighting in the womb of Rebecca, it may be impossible to keep this short enough to be a Biblical Gem. The fighting became so serious that Rebecca and her husband, Isaac, asked God's help. God came and made a prophesy that concerns all people of the world. He stated Rebecca would give birth to twins and He would love one and hate the other. This caused criticism and misunderstanding. Some asked if God had the authority to bless and condemn before either twin had committed an earthly deed. He also stated the elder would serve the younger which was against Jewish custom. He prophesied they would be two different people and would become two different nations.

When these twins were born the elder was named Esau and the younger was named Jacob. We have no knowledge that Esau ever recognized or prayed to God, but Jacob became a man who sought to serve God. Esau left the promised land of God's people to become head of a nation called Edom and although His posterity there are still known as Edomites, Biblical history lets us know they are the people of Russia. As we know them, they are still not considered righteous and do not favor serving God. On the other hand, Jacob became head of the nation of Israel and his posterity are known as Jews and Christians and are called God's people. God has greatly favored them in world events and it proves He does truly love Jacob and has extended His blessings upon his posterity. It also proves that God does know the future. We have seen His prophesy that these twins would become two great nations. It has happened. And America is the leading nation among this group, but there are other tribes that have generated from Jacob to become various nations and are respectively identified Biblically as the lost ten tribes of Israel; and worldly known as Israelites just as the Edomites are known as Russians. If you are wondering why such attention is given to these facts, present world history proves bitterness and fighting still exists between the nations of Russia and Israel. You can find these facts in the 38th and 39th Chapters of Ezekiel. In the latter days of world events Russia will lead a coalition of evil Nations against the free world of which America and Israel are the most important. I have written Biblical (Gem Cont’d.) Gems on these scriptures in the past and was able to identify and name several of the Nations that will follow Russia in a great war to be seen in the latter days. America will suffer and see great loss of life; but Russia will be destroyed by the wrath of God in that war. When George Bush was elected President of the US, President Putin of Russia visited him and appeared to be very friendly. The American news men made a big to do of it and said Russia and the US would become great friends. I told my wife, "that will never happen, that is not the way the Bible is written". I was right, today Russia and China are the most dangerous enemies we have. They have the best equipment and plenty of man power. God is always right, all of this will happen. Please read the 38th and 39th chapters of Ezekiel, let your Bible speak to you. And this will mean a lot more to you.
