Rosa Dell Gervais, 86 of Clyde, died Wednesday at a local care center.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday April 4, 2009 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in China Creek Cemetery near San Saba at 4:00 p.m. Visitation was from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday April 3, 2009 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gervais was born September 11, 1922 in Mills County, Texas to Joseph and Mary Ann (Hunt) Casbeer. She graduated from Star High School and received her nursing degree from Cisco Junior College. Rosa married William Stott Roach on April 6, 1946 in Parker’s Landing, PA. She moved to Baird from Austin in 1997. Mrs. Gervais worked as an LVN at Hendrick Medical Center, then at Canterbury Villa Nursing Center in Baird. She was a member of the Catholic church.

Survivors include three sons, Michael Roach and his wife, Cathy of Abilene; Joe Roach and his wife, Janis, also of Abilene; and Dennis Roach of Austin; two daughters, Pat Taylor and her husband, Donnie of Clyde; and Anita Owings and her husband, Don of Eunice, NM; one sister, Marie Shelton of Longview; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Roach Pisana of Kyle; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Tot Casbeer of Goldthwaite, and two sisters, Bertha Holland of San Saba and Mattie Renfro of Goldthwaite.
