Gerald Lynn “Peepaw” Montgomery

Gerald Lynn “Peepaw” Montgomery, 80, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2009. He was born in Beeville, Texas on May 29, 1928 to Ruby and William Montgomery. Gerald served his country in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. He also served in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and also St. Vincent De Paul Society.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Glenn and brother, Don Montgomery; two sisters, Frances Farr and Nonie Montgomery.

Survivors include his wife, of fifty-nine years, Geneve Montgomery of Corpus Christi; his children, Shirley McNeely(Bill) Priest of Mathis, Texas; Don (Ann) Montgomery of Corpus Christi, Texas; Leslie (Jeffrey) McIntosh of San Saba, Texas; Scott Montgomery of Corpus Christi, Texas and Jim (Beverly) Montgomery of Gussettville, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; cousin, Winona Matheson of Clareville, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pall bearers were his grandsons, James McNeely; Shawn McNeely; Ryan McNeely; Matt Montgomery; Garrett Montgomery; Ben Montgomery; Tyler McIntosh; and Marshal McIntosh.
