Arthur L. Cook

Arthur L. Cook, 73, of Richland Springs passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2009 in Brownwood. He was born February 13, 1936 in Lometa, Texas, the son of Charlie Cook and Anges Campbell Cook.

On July 3, 1979 Arthur L. Cook and Sharon Ann Steffey were married in Bangs. He worked as a rancher and he attended the Baptist Church.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann Steffey of Richland Springs; his sons, Joe Cook and his wife, Laura of Comanche; Melvin Fleming of Hudson; Charles Fleming and his wife, Jennifer of San Saba; his grandchildren, Cash Cook; Shyan Fleming; Colton Fleming; Westyn Fleming and Jadyn Fleming; his sisters, Opal Walton and her husband, Lee Jay of Bastrop; Nellie Foster and her husband, Floyd of Friendswood. Arthur is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lisa Cortese; and one grandson, Ryan Cortese.

Services were held Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Howell-Doran Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Fikes officiating. Interment followed at Payne Gap Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Payne Cemetery Association.
