The 2009 Llano County Lawn and Garden Show will take place April 4, 2009 at the American Legion Hall in Llano, from 10:00a.m.to 2:00p.m. Admission is free and in addition to door prizes, free trees and herb and native plant sales, there will be local vendors featuring various gardening related products. Miiller’s Smokehouse will provide sausage wraps for you to enjoy while listening to an outstanding array of speakers.

Linda O’Nan, Llano Master Gardener, Highland Lakes Master Naturalist, landscaper and owner/operator of “The Green Gardener” will demonstrate how to construct a succulent wreath. The wreath will be raffled off at the close of the show. Allen Hopson, landscaper and irrigation specialist along with Jason Watson, owner of Horseshoe Bay Tree Care will provide a question and answer forum in which they will respond to questions concerning landscaping, tree health and how to help your landscape survive drought conditions. Dave and Inell Franks, Llano Master Gardeners and Rainwater Specialists will present two programs, the first being an introduction to rainwater harvesting and how to construct your own rain barrel for water collection. The second program will introduce you to rainwater harvesting for wildlife and demonstrate the construction of a “wildlife guzzler”.

The show is a cooperative effort of the Llano County AgriLife Extension Service and the Llano County Master Gardeners Association. What better way for the entire family to spend the day and to prepare for spring gardening! Come grow with us.
