GED class needs Students
Thursday, March 26, 2009 • Posted March 26, 2009

San Saba’s GED class needs students and needs them now. The class meets every Monday and Tuesday nights from September until the end of May, except for holidays. Monday, March 30, is the last day to enroll in the GED class this year. Students enrolled earlier in the year are welcome to come back to class, but must be committed to attend. Recent changes in regulations set by the Texas Education Agency, require that our class meet attendance requirements in order to remain in effect.

This GED class is sponsored by Central Texas College, is free for the students who attend, and is a great asset for our community. However, we could lose our class for the rest of this school if attendance does not improve for every class until the end of May. Adults who need or who want to get a GED certificate should consider enrolling in the class at our next class on March 30th. Readers who know someone who is a GED candidate should encourage him or her to come.

The GED Test is given at many locations across the state of Texas during the year, but the Ranger College Continuing Education office gives the test closest to us in Early, Comanche, and Stephenville.

The fee is $90.00, and is paid for by generous community sponsors such as the Ministerial Alliance, churches, and community members, many of whom are retired teachers, who want to see members of our community succeed in their lives. In order to qualify for this test fee, scholarship candidates must meet their obligations in the class.

Time is limited before this opportunity ends for this school year. To enroll on March 30th, come to Room 9 at the high school at 6:00 p.m. Bring your Social Security number and plan to stay until 8:45 p.m. Enter at the south door. Signs will direct you to Room 9. Teacher for the GED class is Mikie Bishop.
