San Saba ISD is pleased to welcome Mr. Richard Taylor to San Saba ISD and San Saba High School. Richard Taylor is a veteran educator who has assumed the position of interim principal for San Saba High School. Former SSHS Principal, Mr. Dave Underwood, served his last day in the District on Friday, March 13, 2009. Mr. Underwood was recently named the superintendent for Priddy ISD and will assume the duties in that district as of March 23, 2009. Mr. Taylor will see SSHS through the final two months of the 2008-2009 school year.

Mr. Taylor was introduced to the student body, faculty and staff of San Saba High School throughout the week of March 9 through March 13. Mr. Taylor comes to San Saba High School from his most recent position as interim principal at Rockdale ISD and prior to retirement, he was employed at Caldwell ISD as assistant superintendent. He is a retired veteran administrator, director, assistant superintendent, teacher and coach. You may see him working with student athletes out at the track and will most assuredly see him at school events providing supervision. He is focused on ensuring that students receive the services they need to graduate and/or be promoted to the next grade level and to provide a safe, orderly and secure environment for students at San Saba High School.

Please take the time to welcome Mr. Taylor to our community, by giving him a call at the high school (325/372-3850) or by dropping by the high school office.
