Thursday, March 12, 2009 • Posted March 12, 2009

This past week the Dillo baseball team played 4 games going 2 and 2 in preparation for this weeks district opener and the Mill Pond Classic.

This past Tuesday, March 3rd, the Varsity Baseball team traveled to Fredericksburg Heritage and won 17-0 with Ryan Parks and Martin Vega having a great game. The JV Dillos played at Johnson City losing 11-7. The young Dillos played well offensively and the pitching was good with Cody Herd and Clayton Perry on the mound.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the Varsity played in the Hamilton Tournament, going 1&2. The Armadillos beat Goldthwaite 12-4 in the first game, Blake Lewis got his 2nd win of the year and we played well offensively as well as defensively. On Friday we got beat 7-1 by Early and on Saturday lost to Gorman 5-2.

I was pleased with our pitching all though we need to cut down on walks. Timely hits are what our focus is going into district. This week we opened district on Tuesday against Dublin. Details will be in next week's print.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday we host the Mill Pond Classic. (See bracket). The JV and the Varsity will each play 3 games. Please come out and support our kids.See you at the park, field or track.
