Richland Springs First Christian Church (CWF) holds monthly meeting

On Wednesday evening, March 4, 2009, the members of the Richland Springs First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) CWF met for their monthly meeting in the fellowship hall of the church. Before the business meeting they were served by Georganna Sonnenberg, Bobbie Adams and Sue Williams.

After the meal Georganna called the business meeting to order. She asked Vicki Eden to read the minutes of the February meeting. Bobbie Adams then gave the treasury’s report. Both were approved by all.

Old business discussed: Mary Kate Adams reminded everyone that they need to be thinking of an event to do this year for Coyotes for the Cure. That event will be planned for October again this year.

New business discussed:

On March 22 the group will be participating in a pulpit exchange with their neighboring Lampasas church. This is in accordance with the Central Area neighborhood network.

On March 29th, there will be a guest speaker from the Christian Church Foundation with a sandwich lunch provided by the church after the service. Desserts may be brought if desired. During the lunch, the guest speaker will be giving a presentation on church stewardship.

A fellowship dinner on April 5th following our Palm Sunday service has also been planned .

An Easter egg hunt will not be held this year.

Also planned was a Maundy Thursday service with a snack supper following that service. A discussion was held regarding having a fellowship dinner following the service on the 22nd.

The next meeting will be April 1st. Serving at the April meeting will be Mary Kate, Paula and Winnie. The study at the April meeting will be of Mary Magdalene.

After the business meeting Georganna led the study of Salome. Attending this March meeting were Georganna Sonnenberg, Bobbie Adams, Vicki Eden, Winnie Shannon, Paula Shannon, Mary Kate Adams, Amanda Sonnenberg, Sue Williams, and Martha Bush.
