Mr. Arnold Wayne Best, age 51, of Crockett, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009 at his residence. He was born April 2, 1957 in Houston, Texas and was a resident of Crockett since 1970.

Arnold was employed by Quantex where he had worked as a machinist and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kennard.

Survivors include his parents, mother and step-father, Gay Best Conner and Bob Conner of Crockett ; his wife, Cathy Best of Crockett; two daughters, Summer Rogers and her husband, Carl of Apple Springs; Holli Collins and her husband, Garet of Lufkin; two step-sons, Joshua McConnell and his wife, Rachael of Athens; Jeremy McConnell of Crockett; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Lisa Golding and her husband, Kenneth of San Saba; four nieces; step-brothers ,Bobby Conner and his wife, Donna of Diboll; Bill Conner and his wife, Belinda of Apple Springs; and step-sister, Karen Vickers and her husband, David of Crockett; brothers -in-law and sisters-in-law: Betty and Bob Taylor of Lufkin; Jeffie and Duane Stone of La Grande, Oregon; Judye Cole of Montgomery; Bill and Sandra Cole of Ratcliff; Gordon and Brenda Cole of Wells; Mike and Jennifer Cole of Montgomery; Jerry and Dianne Cole of Ratcliff. Numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Preceded in death by father, Miledge A. Best; grandparents, Alford and Mattie Best; Eskell and Opal Butler and nephew, Zachary Stovall. Funeral services for Mr. Arnold Wayne Best were held Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 11:00 a. m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Interment followed in the Conner Cemetery.
