Rex McCarty

Rex McCarty, 93, of Dublin passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Comanche County Medical Center. He was born June 27, 1915 in China Creek Community, the son of R. D. McCarty and Mary Effie Taylor McCarty. On December 21, 1938, Rex McCarty and Pauline Adair were married in San Saba County. Rex worked in the Water Well Service. He was a member of the Internal Order of Oddfellows. He attended the Baptist Church.

Rex is survived by his wife, Pauline McCarty of Comanche; his son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Barbara McCarty of Dripping Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Tom Brown of Comanche; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Steve Easley of Carson City, Nevada; his grandchildren ,Terry Don McCarty; Lee Ellen Hunger and her husband ,Joe Bob; Steve Brown and his wife, Lori; Karen Originales and her husband, John; Amanda Waits; Mac Easley; Jack McCarty; Tracy Diaz and her husband, James Holder; Jason McCarty and his wife, Jesse; Leslie Ann McCarty; and Joanna McCarty; his great-grandchildren, Jackson Mayer; Weston Mayer; Kamryn Mayer; Brooks Brown; Royal Brown; Ariel Brown; Anjelica Diaz; and Isiah McCarty; his sister, Katie Ruth Murphy of Ft. Worth, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rex is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Lonnie McCarty; three sisters, Flossie Sikes; Gladys Shirley; Frankie Shirley; and one infant brother.

Services were held Monday, March 2, 2009 at 2:00 PM Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George McHorse Officiating.

The family received friends, Sunday, March 1st from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel.

The family requests that memorials be made to the China Creek Cemetery Association or Comanche County Medical Center.
