Audrey Whitley, 91, of San Saba, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2009 in San Saba. Audrey was born September 16, 1917, in Durant, Mississippi, the daughter of Plez J. McGuffee. On December April 3, 1936 Warwick Whitley and Audrey McGuffee were married in Oakdale, LA. She attended the Methodist Church.

Audrey is survived by her son, Mellor Whitley II and his wife, Maxine of Burnet; her daughters, Ruth Riggs and her husband, Ray of San Saba; Carol Barton and her husband, Terry of Granite Shoals; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Zora Olsson and her husband, Robert of Baton Rouge; and Jeanette Edwards of McAlester, Oklahoma. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Dorothy Albright and one sister.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Tom Brand officiating.

The family received friends, Tuesday, March 3rd from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel.

The family requests that memorials be made to the San Saba County Volunteer EMS.
