Frank Alcorn

Frank Alcorn, 79, of San Saba, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2009 at Rollins Brook Hospital in Lampasas. Frank was born January 23, 1930 in Strawn, Texas, the son of W. C. Alcorn and Daisy Lee Clara Graves Alcorn. On December 8, 1945, Frank Alcorn and Ella Pearl Sutton were married in San Saba. He worked as a builder, plumber, electrician, farmer, and rancher. He also owned and operated Frank’s Bait & Tackle Shop in Bend, TX from 1980 to 1990.

Frank is survived by his son, Charles Frank Alcorn and his wife, Gloria of Copperas Cove; his daughter, Betty Sue Pierce of Burnet; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; his devoted companion, Maria Arnold of Lampasas; his brother, Raymond Alcorn of San Saba; Wilbert Alcorn and his wife, of Winters; his sister, Bula Crim of San Saba; and several Nieces and Nephews.

Frank is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two sons, Bobby Joe Alcorn and Kenneth Ray Alcorn; three brothers, Austin Alcorn; Bob Alcorn; and Paul Alcorn; and two grandchildren, Laura Pierce and Victor Pierce.

Services were held Sunday, March 1, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Calvin Williams officiating. Interment followed at Wallace Creek Cemetery.

The family received friends, Saturday, February 28, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel.

The family requests that memorials be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
