The San Saba Lady Dillos defeated Coleman by a score of 73-29. We had a big night hitting 15 three pointers in this game. We were up 46-5 at halftime and never looked back. Calea Turner lead us in scoring with 20 while Tarah Crosby chipped in 15 and Shelby Hardy added 11. Our guards did a good job of pressuring all night and we had a good night at Armadillo Arena. Next up for the ladies was Bangs and we had a very sluggish first half and only had a 24-17 lead at half. We woke up in the third quartrer and outscored the Lady Dragons 19-7 to take a 43-26 lead at the end of the third. We closed out the fourth quarter outscoring our counterpart, 12-4 to grab our 19th win of the year. Shelby Hardy had a big night netting 17 points while Haylee Oliver added 13 points. Calea Turner and Johnise Bush each added 8 points. Following the Bangs game we faced Early and ran into a team still fighting for their playoff lives. The Lady Horns jumped on us early and had us down 23-2 at the end of the first quarter and they took a commanding 32-9 lead into halftime. One bright spot for the rest of the night was that we did keep competing and fighting hard at times as we tied the Lady Horns in the third and fourth quarters at 8 and 12 apiece.

We couldn’t throw it in the ocean in the first half and against good teams they will make you pay which is what the Lady Horns did. When the paper comes out we will have faced Grape Creek, our goal is to hopefully get our 20th win which will be gratifying considering the injuries and all we’ve had to overcome. Our girls have given great effort pretty much every night and we hope to compete hard come Tuesday.

Our JV team defeated Early 34-26 last Friday to get a big win. We started off slowly but had big runs in the third and fourth quarters to get a win. Last Tuesday we traveled to Bangs and were defeated 37-29 by Bangs. We got down early, 23-6 at halftime but actually cut the lead to 7 with about twenty five seconds. Coleman defeated us 37-20 two weeks ago at home. We were down 17-8 at halftime and couldn’t overcome this deficit. Our JV will also have finished their season this past Tuesday at Grape Creek as well.
