Matthew 3:5 "His disciples came unto Him privately, saying 'Tell us; when shall these things be and what will be the sign of THY coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them saying, 'Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in MY name, saying I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Question: Do you suppose Jesus was referring to many of the big time radio preachers that are preaching many things from the imagination of their evil mind that cannot be found in your Bible; although they do say they are coming in the name of Christ? "And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that: see that you be not troubled; for all these things must come to pass; but the end is not yet." For Nation shall rise against Nation, and Kingdom against Kingdom; and there shall be famines, and pestileces, and earthquakes, in divers places". Comment: We are seeing all these things in our world right now. These are the beginning of sorrows" For then shall be the great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time; no nor ever shall be." "And except those days should be shortened there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." This should strike fear in every Christian's heart, but you will see no fear in the hearts and lives of the vast majority who are devoting all their time in seeking their pleasures and greedy living. The unusual events that are taking place in our world today may be God's way to polarize the lost from the elect, (saved) before His punishment is eased. Your Bible history will prove God has never permitted any nation to escape His punishment when sin becomes so great it angers Him. Question: How far do you think we are from doing that today?

It is sure to happen and God even warned of it many years ago in the Old Testament.

We must believe He is the same today as He was in those ancient days. They did not escape His punishment and neither will we unless He sees repentance. We have become a very sinful nation and we are seeing some of the signs Jesus described in our text right now. God spoke often concerning the latter days in the Old Testament. Space will not permit typing all of them, but I will mention just a few that you might read in your own Bible. Ezekiel 38:8 - Deuteronomy 4:30 - Jeremiah 49:39 - Ezekiel 38:16 - Numbers 24:14 - Daniel 2:28 - Hosea 3:5 - Daniel 10:14 - Ezekiel 39:16 And many more that God saw a long time ago. Some of it has happened and some of it is happening right now, and some of it will surely happen in the future.

I am afraid many of the people who gave our new president such a rowdy welcome would not greet Christ with that much enthusiasm. I hope I am wrong, but there is much evidence to show we are that far gone to disappoint and anger God. We might be in serious danger to be so intoxicated with worldly pleasures.
