The San Saba Tennis Team played three matches this past weekend. On Friday, Feb.27th, San Saba defeated Florence 16 to 4. On Saturday, Feb.28th, the Armadillos traveled to Leander High School and played in a tri-meet against a couple of class 3A state ranked teams Bellville and Waco Robinson. San Saba was defeated by Bellville 18 to 1 and in the afternoon match Waco Robinson defeated San Saba 17 to 2. Bellville won the tri-meet by defeating Robinson 10 to 8.

These matches will get us ready for the Region V Team Tennis Tournament on March 6-7. The top two teams in the tournament will advance to the state tournament on March 13-14. San Saba will be trying to make their 13th straight appearance in the state tournament and 17th over all state appearances in team tennis. On Friday, March 13th , San Saba will play Lago Vista at 9:00 a.m. at Leander High School in the regional quarterfinal match. Teams in the regional tournament are Brock, Thrall, Godley, Florence, Comanche, Lago Vista, and San Saba.
