On Friday, February 27 the 7th and 8th grade boys competed in a track meet at Florence. These young men should be congratulated on the fine job they did in their first meet. Every one of them competed to the best of their abilities and as coaches we were very proud of them. With their attitude and willingness to work hard they will become better track athletes and better athletes over all. Both teams finished 4th place in their respective divisions.

Results for the 8th grade:

2400 M Run- 5th Nathan Carpenter

4 x 100 Relay- 4th Ryan Guidroz, Juan Ortega, Josh Robinson, and Corey Turner

100 M Dash- 4th Josh Robinson

4 x 200 Relay- 4th Juan Ortega, Luis Vega, JT Mathis, and Josh Robinson

4 x 400 Relay- 4th Isaac Zepeda, Juan Ortega, Luis Vega, and Russton Ellis

Long Jump- 4th Juan Ortega

Shot Put- 6th Michael McKinnerney

Discus- 2nd Juan Garcia, 6th Joe Lindsey

Triple Jump- 1st Luis Vega

High Jump- 5th Russton Ellis

Other 8th Grade Participants: Hector Paez, Diego Lara, Nathan Amstead, Aaron Perez, Jeffrey Hoyt

4 x 100 Relay- 4th Geryn Young, Kolton Ellis, Jordan Watson, and Dallas Caldwell

100 Meter Dash- 6th Geryn Young

300 Meter Hurdles- 2nd Kelan Verette, 4th Ruben Aguirre

200 Meter Dash- 5th Geryn Young

4 x 200 Meter Relay- 2nd Kelan Verette, Dallas Caldwell, Jordan Watson, and Kolton Ellis

4 x 400 Meter Relay- 5th Kelan Verette, Dallas Caldwell, Ruben Aguirre, and T.J. Hibler

Long Jump- 4th Geryn Young

Shot Put- 2nd Oscar Villa

Discus- 1st Isamel Ramirez
