We are getting a very dry start for this new year. We only had .3 inch of rain in December, .5 in January with lots of windy days to take away the small amount of moisture. Saturday was Ground Hog Day and the old saying is that if he saw his shadow, we would have six more weeks of winter weather. It was sunny so I guess he saw his shadow.
We start the new month with the 42 tournament coming up this Saturday night over at Winchell. The Busy Bee quilters will meet on the 12th and the community meeting will be the 16th.
We were absent with our newsletter last week due to a lack of news. I know someone must have had visitors or gone somewhere or done something? Feel free to call in your news items.
Marilyn Suber and I went to Brownwood today to do a little shopping and visit my sister, Addie Long.
I’m sure many folks were glued to the TV set Sunday night to catch the Super Bowl. I really did not care who won since the Cowboys were not in it. I would have liked to see the Patriots win in order to carry their winning streak all the way but I also wanted the Giants to win because I like Eli Manning. It was a good game with a very exciting conclusion. My grandson, Kelton Parson, was beside himself because he is really a fan of both the Manning brothers.
