Dorothy Patton

Dorothy Patton, 76, of Port Neches, Texas, formally of San Saba, Texas passed away Thursday, January 31, 2008 in Port Neches. She was born October 20, 1931, in Post, Texas, the daughter of James Madison Massingill and Velva Marie Huffman Massingill. On December 10, 1956, Victor Allen Patton and Dorothy Massingill were married in Weatherford, Texas, where Dorothy worked as a homemaker. Victor preceded her in death May 6, 1998.

She is survived by four sons: Jeffery Jones and his wife, Sheila, of Groves, TX; Jerry Bogus of Nederland, TX; David Bogus of Houston, TX; and George Otto of Missouri; five daughters: Carol Patton of Port Neches, TX; Linda Patton of Big Spring, TX; Victoria Reynolds of Gatesville, TX; Tammy Otto of Nederland, TX; and Gloria Sewell of Van Alstyne, TX; six grandchildren: Lynnelle Bogus, Andrew Bogus, Jennifer Bogus, Amy Oestreich, and Nichole and Robert Howell; four great-grandchildren: Andrew Spikes, Hayley Howell, Caitlyn Howell, and Kirsten Howell; one brother, James Massingill of Springtown, TX; and one sister, Evelyn Banta of Camp Wood, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: J.D. Massingale and Arlie B. Massingill; and one sister, Lula Hosingston.

Services were held Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Brand officiating. Interment followed at the San Saba City Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

Services were under the direction of the Howell-Doran Funeral Home.
