Polished Stones
Thursday, February 26, 2009 • Posted February 26, 2009

Recently my wife and I went to visit our son and our new daughter-in-law for a few days. While we were there we noticed some signs telling of a gem and rock show that was in town.

So, one afternoon my wife and I went to see it. They had stones and gems from all over the world and in every size, shape and color. There were stones as they are found in their natural state and they also had the stones that had been polished, cut or shaped.

It was so amazing to see the difference in the raw stones and the finished stones. The finished stones were so beautiful and were ready to be put in different settings whether it was in rings, bracelets, earrings or whatever. Seeing those stones reminded me of something about life.

Every life has value and beauty but when we allow God to have His way with our life, it can even become more beautiful. We must humble ourselves before God, (Isaiah 66:1-3) repent of our sins, (Acts 3:19), and call upon Jesus Christ and then we are brought near to God by the blood of Christ, (Ephesians 2:4-10 &13).

Only then, can we ever become that beautiful person God created us to be, (2 Corinthians 5:17-19). It is not an outward beauty but an inward beauty because the spirit of God dwells there, (Romans 8:9).

See you in Church next Sunday.
