In Psalm 110:1, God the Father says to His Son, “Sit at My right hand.” In fulfillment of this prophesy, Christ ascended bodily into heaven. He “has taken His seat at the right hand of the majesty in the heavens” (Hebrews 8:1). The apostle Peter then made this proclamation to the citizens of Jerusalem: “God has made Him both Lord and Christ” (Acts 2:36).
There are many kings and many lords but Jesus Christ is Lord over all. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him (Matthew 28:18). He is the ruler of the kings of the earth (Revelation 1:5). Christ meant it when He proclaimed, “The kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15). Finally, the words of the original Hallelujah chorus will fill heaven. “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever” (Revelation 11:15).
To enter Christ’s kingdom, you must receive a new heart from God and be born again (John 3:3). You must turn from evil and harmful conduct (Acts 3:19). You must trust in the crucified and risen Lord Jesus Christ as the divine Son of God (Acts 16:31). You must also confess Him as your Lord (Romans 10:9). All of this is radical and life changing.
