At the February Regular Monthly meeting of the San Saba ISD, the School Board of Trustees voted unanimously to offer the position of Athletic Director and Head Football Coach to Jeff Pannell.

Pannell has worked for SSISD since August, 2005. Pannell brings to the position a wealth of athletic knowledge. He has been coaching varsity football since 1995 in various school districts; namely Sanford ISD, Borger ISD, Plainview ISD and San Saba ISD. He served as assistant varsity football coach in each of these school districts.

Pannell is best known at San Saba ISD as assistant head football coach and for leading the Armadillo Baseball team to the regional playoffs during the 2008-2009 school year for their first playoff appearance in 19 years. Pannell is looking to use the ingredients of success in the baseball program to ignite the Armadillo football team in the coming season.

Coach Pannell has currently taken the helm of the athletic program while also completing the year as interim principal at San Saba Middle School, Varsity Assistant Head Football Coach, Assistant Powerlifting Coach and Head Baseball Coach for the Armadillos. He looks forward to supporting all athletic programs in their quest to be Champions and represent San Saba in UIL competition.
