Dillo Lifters get Team Power Lifting Trophy
Thursday, February 19, 2009 • Posted February 19, 2009

On Saturday, February 14, 2009, the San Saba High School Power lifting team competed in the Brady meet. The team increased in numbers and increased in weight totals from the Brownwood, DeLeon, and Dublin meets, thus showing great improvement. We are extremely proud of their accomplishments this week and if you see any of these lifters, please congratulate them on their awesome performance.

The San Saba Boys team finished 3rd out of 25 teams and we finished above most 2A schools in the meet and in front of most of our district opponents. 7 of the 10 lifters that competed received a medal. Also, the boys’ team received a team trophy at a highly competitive meet and as far as I know it is one of the first in the history of San Saba Power Lifting. Most weight classes had at least 30 lifters or more in their weight classes. On the girls’ side, Whitney Key made a 35lb. improvement on her total from last meet and she is continually gaining confidence with each medal she receives and for that I am extremely proud of her.

This meet was a highly competitive meet and our lifters should be congratulated on their performances. The Dillo lifters are continually working harder and bettering their totals each and every week and we are extremely proud of their performances. We look forward to seeing their improvements on February 27th in the Strawn Power lifting meet.
