Armadillo Basketball Report

On Tuesday, February 10th, the Armadillos hosted the Coleman Bluecats. The Armadillos wasted no time in getting after the Bluecats. The Dillos were leading 20-5 at the end of the first quarter.

It was a different story in the second quarter. The Dillos failed to score one field goal, but mustered up two free throws to keep from going scoreless in the second quarter. The Armadillos led 22-18 at the half.

The Dillos got back on track in the second half, outscoring the Bluecats 16-11 in the third and 25-12 in the fourth. The Dillos won the contest 63-41. “I was real proud of our kids tonight. We finally got some shots to go in and putting that together with some pretty good defense, we got the win.”

Scoring for the Dillos:

Ross Williams- 17, George Long-14, Braden McBee-10, Chase Key-7, Tucker Cromer-6, Chance Gotcher- 5, Hayden Oliver – 3, and Hector Jimenez -1.

On Friday, February 13th, the Dublin Lions came to town. The Armadillos put up some good offensive numbers but fell short, losing to the Lions 65-55. “We fell behind by 7 points at the half and we just couldn’t catch up.

Our kids played hard and we are playing better than we have the past few games. I am proud of their effort.”

Scoring for the Dillos:

George Long – 19, Ross Williams – 12, Tucker Cromer – 8, Chase Key – 6, Hector Jimenez and Braden McBee -3, and Chance Gotcher and Hayden Oliver – 2.

The Dillos will finish up the season when they travel to Bangs on Tuesday, Feb. 17th.
