The San Saba Lady Dillos defeated Coleman last Tuesday by a score of 56-36. We had already clinched the District Championship by defeating Comanche in our previous game but it was still sweet to win and then have all the festivities such as parents’ night and the cutting of the nets.We forced a great deal of turnovers but we didn’t play our best against Coleman.
We lead 26-16 at halftime and were up 46-32 at the end of the third quarter. I don’t know if the game was anticlimactic since we had already clinched or due to parents’ night or senior night but we must play better in the playoffs. Our effort was there, we just looked sloppy at times.
Now, let’s end on a positive note. According to Mrs. Glaze, this was the first District Championship since 1957 and we are very proud of our accomplishment.
We will play the winner of Cisco/Nocona and they will have played on Tuesday when the paper comes out. Details for whom and where we are playing will be on the marquee in front of the administration building and will be announced on the radio.
We will have played Thorndale in a warm up game and hopefully we will have played well and come out with a victory. Make plans to be somewhere this Friday and get those lungs ready to cheer the Lady Dillos to victory. We appreciate your support all year and look forward to a LONG RIDE in the PLAYOFFS!!! Phil 4:13
