The Lady Coyotes are 19-9 on the season and 7-5 in district play. The Varsity boys are 16-4 on the season and 8-3 in district play. Both teams still have secured post-district berths. The Lady Coyotes played the Jonesboro Lady Eagles on Tuesday, Feb. 17th at Evant. If the boys win their last regular season game, they will also play Jonesboro. Goldthwaite has been a topic of discussion as a possible bi-district site for the two boys’ teams. Come out and support the teams in the playoffs.

Track practice began in earnest this week. Soon basketball will be over and all athletes will be circling the track.

February 23rd – February 27th is Texas Severe Weather Awareness Week. Severe weather may strike with only a few minutes of advance warning. Richland Springs School will participate in the National Weather Service’s tornado warning drill for schools on February 26th at approx. 9:30 a.m.

Patsy Hall is attempting to make Richland Springs the Mecca of One Act Plays. RS will be hosting a one act play clinic on Friday, Feb. 20th and Sat., Feb. 21st. San Saba, Miles, DeLeon, Junction, Llano, Breckenridge, Goldthwaite, Mason, Brady, Brownwood, & Sonora will be at the event. Royal Brantley, immediate past president of the Texas Theatre Association will be the adjudicator. Food is needed for the hospitality room for the judge and the theatre coaches on both Friday and Saturday. If you would like to help with the hospitality room, contact Linda Harris at the school.

It’s great to see our community supporting students in their efforts to achieve. We have a great community, students, teachers and staff. It takes everyone working together to achieve success.
