Nominations in for 1st Annual San Saba Awards Recognition Banquet

The nomination forms for the 1st Annual San Saba Awards Recognition Banquet are in and have been reviewed by the Awards Selection Committee. The Committee met on February 2nd, and after carefully weighing the criteria, the final decision has been made.The committee would like to thank everyone who submitted a nomination form.

The Awards Selection Committee is pleased to announce the top three finalists in each category:

Man of the Year:

Woman of the Year:

Leigh Ann Glaze

Marian Deans

Karen Smith Little

Heritage Award:

Business of the Year:

The 2008 San Saba Recognition Awards Banquet will be held March 12th at the San Saba Civic Center. The theme of the banquet is "It's About To Get Western." The public is invited to attend and encouraged to "Cowboy-Up and Cowgirl-Up!"

The Awards Banquet will begin at 6 p.m. with the meal consisting of: pork steak, beans, potato salad, and cobbler. Attendees will be entertained with live music by Austin's Bluegrass group, "The Sieker Band." A 32" flat-panel color T.V. will be given away to one lucky winner. The evening will also include guest speaker, State Representative Harvey Hilderbran.

Tickets may be purchased in advance for $10.00 each at Arrowhead Bank, Commercial National Bank, City Hall, and at the San Saba County Chamber of Commerce Office or at the door.
