Armadillo Basketball Report

On Tuesday, January 30, the Armadillos hosted Early. Early won the contest 55-35. At the end of the 1st quarter, the Dillos led 9-7. After two quarters, the score was tied 19 all. In the 3rd, the Longhorns outscored the Dillos 19-4 and took the lead 38-23. In the fourth, Early outscored the Dillos 17-12. Leading the scoring for the Dillos was George Long with 8; Ross Williams -7; Chance Gotcher – 5; Braden McBee, Hector Jimenez, and Tucker Cromer had 4 each; and Chase Key had 3. “Once again, we played ok for three quarters. Tonight it was the 3rd quarter that got us. This has been our nemesis all year.”

On Friday, February 6, the Dillos traveled to Comanche to take on the Indians. The first time we played them, Comanche beat us by 15. We played 3 good quarters against them, but the second quarter got us. This time around we didn’t play up to our potential. After one quarter, the Indians led 19-6. The half time score was 38-19. After three, the Indians led 57-26, and the final ended up 79-44. Ross Williams led the scoring for the Dillos with 16. George Long had 14; Tucker Cromer had 5; Hector Jimenez had 4; Chase Key had 3; and Braden McBee had 2.

The Armadillos will play host Coleman on Tuesday, February 10, and will also host Dublin on Friday, February 13. We will then travel to Bangs on February 17 to wrap up our season.
