The San Saba Ladies Golf Association held it’s monthly business meeting February 4, 2009 at the San Saba River Golf Course with the following members present: Nell McHorse, Hattie Rogers, Jo Ann Snow, Jo Anne Hardy, Sandee Hartley, Dorothy Sterner, Bobbie Churchill, and Anita Miles.

The President, Anita Miles, called the meeting to order and opened the meeting with prayer by the Club Chaplain, Nell McHorse.

The Secretary, Hattie Rogers, read the minutes for December and January and they were approved as read. The Treasurer, Bobbie Churchill, gave the financial report.

The Traveling 4-Ball Chair, Sandee Hartley, gave a report from the Annual meeting held February 3, 2009 in Fredricksburg, Texas. She announced that Packsaddle has dropped out of the Traveling 4-Ball as their course has sold and they are uncertain as to the future of the Ladies Golf Association.

The date for the San Saba River Golf Traveling 4-Ball is July 16, 2009. The members voted to increase the entry fee according to the cost of the course and each course will send out their own new entry fee that will then be announced to the membership. Anita Miles, President, and Sandee Hartley, Traveling 4-Ball Chair, attended the meeting to represent San Saba.

The San Saba Ladies voted for an entry fee of $30.00 per player from the out of town clubs and $10.00 for the San Saba membership.

The water fountains planned for the golf course was put on hold due to the cost involved. It was suggested that we have a tournament to raise money for this project and this will be looked into further.

The meeting adjourned with the ladies going to the RV Community Room for games and coffee and fellowship.

If you haven’t paid your dues for 2009 please contact Bobbie Churchill or Anita Miles as soon as possible as the yearbook will be printed shortly and we want your name and information in the yearbook.

March will soon be roaring in like a lion but we should have bright sun shiny days that will make us want to, have to, need to, keep on “swinging!”
