As we approach the end of the regular season of basketball for our high school and Junior High students, I want to spend some time thanking the student athletes who participate, the parents and the coaching staff.

Basketball season is long and hard on everyone involved. Dedication of students and coaches must be in place in order to survive the regular season. My hat is off to those student athletes who move gracefully from one sport to another, remaining eligible through passing grades, school attendance, and who compete successfully and remain dedicated to the team.

The coaching staff, their spouses and children need our support and our respect as they dedicate long hours – some times 15 hour days to these student athletes in their programs. Sometimes we forget that after a ballgame that we have been at watching our children play, the coaches have spent this same amount of time with the student athletes and then must have some much needed time with their own children. There is not enough time in the day to get it all done.

We are blessed with committed and dedicated teachers, teacher/coaches, and staff at San Saba ISD. They are committed to one-another and to the students of this community. We are so very fortunate!

As we enter the playoffs with our girls’ basketball program, please continue to support these girls and coaches through your attendance at the games on the road and through your words of encouragement to them and their coaches. They can’t hear enough how much you appreciate their hard work. Playoff information will be provided on the lighted marquee located outside the District office, on the radio and on the website. Building success and a tradition of excellence begins one program at a time. We have had success in many of our academic programs and athletic programs. These steps toward success put us well on our way to reaching our goal as a school district – “to be the school of choice in central Texas”. We believe that we can construct an environment through all of our programs that will help attract families to this community and help us grow and thrive! Thanks again for your support!
