Joyce Bogard Boynton

Joyce Faith Bogard Boynton, 91 of San Saba passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at a local care facility. Joyce was born on May 14, 1917, in Richland Springs, Texas, the daughter of John Henry and Frances Stafford Bogard. Joyce worked as a hairdresser. She was a member of the Eastern Star and attended the First Baptist Church.

Joyce is survived by one son, David Brinkley, and his wife, Mary of San Saba; daughter-in-law Rosalind Brinkley of Cameron; three grandchildren, Lori Vega and her husband, Richard; Michael Brinkley; and Gary James Brinkley; two great-grandchildren, Megan and Zachary Connolly; and two sisters-in-law, Juverna Bogard of Lampasas and Hazel Bogard of Tyler, formerly of San Saba.

Joyce married Sam Boynton in San Saba July 9, 1972. Sam died August 15,1993. Joyce was also preceded in death by son, Gary Brinkley; great-granddaughters, Lillian and Carmen Avila; brothers, John and William H. Bogard; and sister, Grace Shoemake.

Services were held Saturday, 24 January 2009, at 10:00 AM at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Crosby officiating. Members of Eastern Star participated in the service. Interment was at High Valley Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of San Saba.
