Well for once the weathermen predication came through for us. R.J. Henniger reported that he had received seven tenth’s inches of rain early Monday morning. If the weather stays warm just maybe, some green stuff will start to show up in the pastures. At least the dust has been settled for the next week or so if the winds will die down and not dry up the moisture.

Bad Bob’s Bend store has started their regular store hours this month. He will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day except for Tuesday when he is closed and on Sunday the hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. They will still be serving the “Big Bad Hamburgers.” He reported that good catches of white bass and crappie are being caught. The fishing has been good and it should get better.

Some of you might have been unlucky enough to know that a highway patrol man was out and watching the stop sign by the Bend Store. It seems some are not stopping and it could get expensive. It is just too easy to look and see no one coming and pull on out to 580 without coming to a complete stop, but don’t get in the habit of doing it because someone maybe watching. One local fellow with the initials of R.H. can testify that you don’t have to be driving an automobile to be pulled over. The local yokel lucked out, the patrolman felt sorry for him having to ride around on a tractor and gave him a warning ticket.

Foy and Clovis Gibson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday night at the Bend Community center with a large crowd of folks attending to help them celebrate the big event.

Happy birthday greetings go out to Toni Mayben who will celebrate a birthday February 13, to Sammy Johnson who will celebrate a birthday February 16, and to Elo Henniger whose birthday is February 18.
