Doug and Cyndi Suggs went to LaPorte last week-end to watch their granddaughter, Sydnie in a musical. Sydnie’s friends Robert and Ali were also in the musical. While there they also saw Tiffany, Jeff and Payton Suggs and Monica and Samuel Baisden.

Tifanie and Natisia Jackson’s grandmother died in Abilene last week. The funeral was held on Monday.

Some of you might remember Lloyd Alexander. He was superintendent of Cherokee Home for Children many years ago. He recently passed away in Lometa.

A group of members of the McArthur Church of Christ in San Antonio came to the children’s home last Saturday. They had a weiner roast for the children, played games spent time with each one. Before they left each child was given a gift.

Brisa Baugh had a “Fancy Nancy” birthday party last Saturday. The children attending were treated to a fancy tea party, ice cream parfaits and clothes to dress up in. Several of the young ladies that live at Cherokee Home for Children treated the children to face painting, manicures, etc. Brisa had family and friends from Temple that also came for her fancy party.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 13 at the Gray Cemetery for Vernell Thaxton. Vernell is the Mother of Kay Thaxton Allison.

The Baptist Youth will be serving a Spaghetti Luncheon at the Church following the morning service, Sunday, February 15. The donations will be used for camp this summer. Everyone is invited!

Joan Lackey was laid to rest in the Cherokee Cemetery last Sunday. Joan is the sister of Eva Berry Yarbrough.

Brady Myers came home on Monday from the Dell Hospital.

Trevor Rhoades from Houston is spending a few weeks with his grandparents, Dusty and MaryDell Rhoades.
