Calling All Heroes
Thursday, January 24, 2008 • Posted January 24, 2008

Its been said that there is nothing like the heart of a volunteer. Those dedicated to service above self, with the willingness to step up and make a committment which includes hours of training, classroom review, repeated hands on in specialty techniques and written testing, and most of all the choice to fill a 12 hour shift and assist in providing a necessary service. This community is invited to help our San Saba County EMS.

First and foremost, there is the need to support all the efforts of our local EMS. Secondly, by considering the possibility of taking their lead and joining the good work of this organization. There have been comments made from time to time of the EMS attendants during a critical time or urgent call, and whether it be known or understood with every run and every call there is always a strong network represented.

All organizations have needs and circumstances that effect their abilities, and thus our sincere concern and request at this time is to ask for your help by building our numbers. Increasing the membership of our organization will allow this program to grow stronger, and be more effective. You see, its not about one person, its about a group of leaders, a group of people that realize the risks, but realize an incredible need. Think about it - look around, and you will see EMS heroes all about this community. Want to make a real difference?

What if those dedicated EMS volunteers had ignored their call, who would be around to respond to yours? Help us keep helping you, San Saba County.

EMS Classes are scheduled to begin soon. For more information contact the local EMS office at 372-6016, Dora Miller at 372-5811, Linda Hardy at 172-5648, Linda Sloan at 623-4538 or Cindy Stafford at City Hall at 372-5144.
