City of San Saba welcomes new City Manager, Stan Weik

Stan Weik assumed the position of City Manager of San Saba, in December, 2007. Mr. Weik came to San Saba from Angleton, Texas where he served as the Director of Parks and Recreation. Prior to his service at Angleton, he served as Assistant City Manager for the City of Brazoria, Texas. Mr. Weik has over 20 years of business experience. He is a trained mediator, successful grant writer and a former Army officer.

Stan was born in San Antonio, Texas and is a graduate of Texas A & M University with a Bachelors of Science degree and he has a Masters of Public Administration from Madison University.

Stan is currently a member of the Texas City Management Association (TCMA), a board member of Keep Texas Beautiful, and a Knight of Columbus. He is a former City Councilman for the City of Angleton, Past Chairman of the Angleton Chamber of Commerce, Past President of Keep Brazoria County Beautiful.

Mr. Weik has received numerous awards to include the Presidential Volunteer Life Time Service award, the Keep America Beautiful – Iron Eyes Cody Award, the Keep Texas Beautiful – Individual Leadership Award and the KTB – Sadie Ray Graff Award.

Stan’s wife Joanne works for BASF in Freeport, Texas. Their four children are grown and live in Texas. It has been a life long dream of Stan and Joanne to live and work in the Texas Hill Country.
