Frances Harriett Lewis Vogel, 92, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009 in San Saba. Frances was born November 3, 1916 in Eden Texas, the daughter of Leroy S. Lewis and Frances Knight Lewis. On July 31, 1941 Frances Harriett Lewis and Edgar T. Vogel were married in San Saba. Edgar preceeded her in death August 13, 1996.

Frances is survived by her two sons, Gary Don Vogel and wife Sharon of San Saba; Rodney Mack Vogel and his wife Cindy Sue of Richland Springs; ten grandchildren, Michael Stricker; Marty Stricker; Michelle Hibler; Craig Vogel; Kevin Vogel; Clay Vogel; Angela Bradley; Jason Vogel; Landon Vogel; and Justin Vogel; fourteen great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mary Garrett of Springer, New Mexico.

Frances was also preceeded in death by her daughter, Gwendlyn Sue Bohls; her granddaughter, Marsha Stricker; her parents and nine brothers and sisters.

Services were held Monday, February 2, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Howell Doran-Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George McHorse officiating. Interment followed at the Richland Springs Cemetery.

The family received friends at the funeral home Sunday, February 1, 2009 from 3:00 to 4:30 P.M. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel.
