County Commissioners' Court October meeting

The Commissioners' Court of San Saba County held its regular monthly meeting on October 9th at 9 a.m. in Judge Byron Theodosis' Chambers. Commissioners Otis Judkins, Roger McGehee, Wayland Perry, and Rickey Lusty along with County Clerk Kim Wells, Treasurer Gayla Hawkins, Attorney David Williams, Justice of the Peace Les Dawson, Administrative Assistant Cathi Miles, Bailiff Mike Edgmon and Coordinators Marsha Hardy and Dora Miller were present. After the opening ceremonies the minutes were approved and accounts payable approved.

The reports of all elected officials: Clerk, Treasurer, Justice of the Peace and Sheiff's Jail Report were approved, subject to audit.

Coordinators Dora Miller, Marsha Hardy and Treasurer Gayla Hawkins are to attend a FEMA workshop on October 11th in Austin where they are to make application to ORCA for disaster funds. FEMA pays 75% up front, the County pays 25% and a grant from ORCA will pay the 25% reimbursement.

Conservation Contract for Pct. 2 with Billy Clyde Smith to move dirt was approved.

Proclamation 2007-08 declaring October 2007 National Breast Cancer Awarness Month. The News took a picture of the Court members with a lovely wreath arrangement, in honor of the declaration.

Proclamation 2007-09 proclaimed November 2007 Home Care and Hospice Month.

Resolution 2007-04 appointed David Williams to Board of Directors, San Saba County Appraisal Board.

Approved Nunc Pro Tunc 2008 Sheriff's Fee Schedule. This corrected the August 27 vote on the sheriff's official fee schedule.

Approved 3 Amendments and Line Items for utilities, sheriff's fuel bill and health insurance.
