AMOS 4:6-12 "Also I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities. And lack of bread in all your places; yet you have not returned to Me," says the LORD. I also withheld rain from you, when there was still three months to the harvest. I made it rain on one city, I withheld rain from another city. One part was rained upon, and where it did not rain that part withered. So two or three cities wandered to another city to drink water. But they were not satisfied; yet you returned not to Me, " Says the LORD. I blasted you with blight and mildew. When your gardens increased, your vineyards, your fig trees, and your olive trees; the locusts devoured them: yet you returned not to Me," says the LORD. I sent among you a plague; your young men I killed with the swords, along with your captive horses. I made the stench of your camps come up into your nostrils; Yet you have not returned to Me. " Says the LORD. I overthrew some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were like a fire brand plucked from the burning; Yet you have not returned to Me, Says the LORD." Therefore I will do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee: PREPARE TO MEET THY GOD.

When I read this strong message God gave to His faithful prophet AMOS, it was late in the night, but I immediately thought how God's message to His people, Israel, in the distant past is still vividly appropriate for His people in the world today. I think it is a lack of intelligence to view all the unusual disasters that are happening in our world today and just write it off as normal living. Space will not permit listing all the unusual bad things that are seen in our world today, and all of the best minds in our government are supposed to be employed in finding solutions to eliminate them. But have you even heard one of them mention God, or that we should return to Him? I believe the vast majority are so busy seeking pleasures and greed for money, they have neglected taking time for Bible reading and talking to God. That will cause people to form their own lifestyle and lose sight of what God expects of them. It will prove impossible for Americans and the world to ignore God, and escape His punishment. America is the leading nation in the house of Israel as identified by the Bible, and we are walking in blindness if we fail to see that our nation is becoming a very wicked nation, and the bad things that should concern us will only get worse unless we see a returning to God as He warns.

God is trying to get our attention by letting many things happen, and if we fail to return to Him we will not be PREPARED TO MEET HIM.
