Reception planned for new Pastor
Thursday, February 5, 2009 • Posted February 5, 2009

Mission Presbytery, members and friends of the First Presbyterian Church in San Saba were blessed to receive the acceptance of Fred Baker to serve as student Supply Pastor effective on January 1, 2009. Now we would like to welcome him to the community of San Saba with a reception in his honor on Sunday, February 8th from 1 – 2:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Church at 207 East Commerce Street. The entire community is invited for refreshments prepared by the women of the church and to meet our new church leader.

Fred Baker and his wife, Mindy, who is in her senior year at the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, are working in their second careers. Their children were grown and both felt the call of working for our precious Lord and Savior. Fred’s career had been in the service of the United States’ armed forces. He has lived in many places, but he has roots in this area and his mother still resides near Rochelle in McCulloch County.

The First Presbyterian Church has worshiped God in San Saba since 1874. It is a welcoming community of committed Christians and all are welcome to join us in the joy and awe of a community of faith.
