Yancey Neveda Clopton

Yancey Neveda Clopton, a resident of Llano for most of his life, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2009 in Llano, Texas at the age of 44. Yancey was born on October 15, 1964 to Emma (McCown) and James Clopton in Georgetown, Texas. Mr. Clopton was a rancher and of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his father, James Clopton.

Survivors include mother, Emma Clopton of Roscoe, Texas; daughter, Roxie Clopton and fiancé Corey Strickland of Midland; son, Justin Clopton of Cherokee. Two sisters, Pamela Hinson of Burnet and Margaret Gardner of Chesterfield, VA; brothers, Jay Clopton of Hamlin; Dale Clopton of Hamlin; Marty Clopton of Roscoe; granddaughter, Alexis Clopton of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Cherokee, Texas at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Brode Simmons officiating. Cremains will be interred at Kuykendall Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Cherokee.
