The Inauguration
Thursday, January 29, 2009 • Posted January 29, 2009

It happened last week and it is estimated that more than 1,400,000 people attended even though it was very cold. It was the inauguration of our 44th president.

I was not there but I watched it on the Television. As you looked away from the inaugural stand all you could see was wall to wall people. The event commenced with the different dignitaries or political leaders being introduced and then escorted to the special seat reserved for them.

Then came the moment that everyone was waiting for, the president elect came in and thousands upon thousands of people waved flags, cheered and some even cried.

The installation of the new president was complete when he took the oath of office with his hand placed on a Bible.

That event reminds me of a even greater event that is going to take place in the future and that is when Jesus Christ is crowned Kings of Kings and Lords of Lords and He begins His reign, (Revelation 19:16).

When Jesus was on the earth He kept telling people the kingdom of heaven was at hand, (Matthew 4:17). His kingdom was purchased with the price of His blood, (Colossians 1:20-23).

His kingdom will never end, (Revelation 5:11-14). He will return visibly to the earth to begin His reign, (Acts 1:11). What a glorious day that will be when His coronation I hope to see. See you in Church next Sunday.
