Crown of Thorns
Thursday, March 21, 2013 • Posted March 20, 2013

He was practicing a skit for a youth group and brought a crown made of thorns. The thorns were two inches or longer and as I looked at them I thought about the pain and humiliation Christ must have suffered on the cross. Some things in life you can't really understand unless you personally experience them. Jesus went through extreme suffering, pain and agonizing death on our behalf (Mark 10:45 & Romans 5:6). It was to pay the price and penalty for my sins and yours (1 Peters 3:18). It is the only way to and only hope of forgiveness with God (John 14:6). Easter season is not just about His death; it is also about His resurrection. He has risen (Luke 24:6&7)! He is alive! I love to attend a Sunday morning Easter sunrise service and when you see the sun just coming up over the horizon you see the power, mightiness and the majesty of God. That same power was at work when Jesus arose from the grave. What have we done with Christ? Have we accepted Him, made Him King of Kings and Lord of Lords of our lives? This Easter season if you have never accepted Him, ask Him in to your life (John 1:12&5:24). If we have, let's honor and worship Him. See you in Church next Sunday.
