Richland Springs First Christian Church CWF meeting
Thursday, January 29, 2009 • Posted January 29, 2009

On Wednesday, January 7, 2009 the members of the Richland Springs First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) met for their monthly meeting in the fellowship hall of the church. Before our meeting we were served a delicious meal by Paula Shannon, Mary Kate Adams and Winnie Shannon.

At 6:40 p.m., President Georganna Sonnenberg called the meeting to order. Vicki Eden was asked to read the minutes of the last meeting. There were no minutes of the December meeting so the minutes of the November meeting were read. Those minutes were approved by all. Bobbie Adams then gave the treasury’s report and that was also approved by all.

Old business discussed was the Advent season. Georganna gave a big thank you to everyone that made the Advent season a great one. The entire congregation was involved in one way or another with the Advent season.

Georganna wants everyone to know how much everyone’s help was appreciated.

Vicki also gave a report of the involvement of the CWF with the Angel Tree in San Saba.

New business discussed: a longtime member of the church, Velma Brown passed away and her service was January 6. John presided over that service.

We set a date for our Valentine fellowship dinner for February 15, 2009. The serving list was redone by Vicki and distributed to everyone present.

Georganna will bring a calendar to the next meeting to plan and set dates for the Lenten season and upcoming events.

Our next meeting will be February 4, 2009. Serving at that meeting will be Martha Bush, Christy Crisp and Vicki Eden. Our study at the February meeting will be of Pilate’s wife.

After our business meeting Georganna led us in the conclusion of our continuing study of Mary and Martha.

Attending this January meeting were Georganna Sonnenberg, Mary Kate Adams, Paula Shannon, Sue Williams, Christy Crisp, Amanda Sonnenberg, Winnie Shannon, Vicki Eden and Bobbie Adams.
