The junior high boys track teams ran this past week at Goldthwaite. There was a lot of good competition and over 600 kids competing. The kids ran well, and all of them ran a better time than the previous meet. The final results are as follows:

7th grade boys: Chris Thorns-berry 5th overall in the 100m dash (13.49). Matthew Burkhart, 6th in 400 m run (1:08.49). Josh Lambert 1st place overall in the 110 hurdles (19.76) and 1st place overall in the 300 hurdles (50.20). The 4x400 relay team of Thornsberry, Julian Zapata, Lambert, and Burkhart finished 6th in a time of 4:50.34.

8th grade boys: Chase Turner 3rd overall in the 200m (26.01). Daniel Rosales 2nd in the 2400m run (9:38). The 4x100 relay of Turner, Rosales, Colt Carlisle, and Elisha Cisneros finished 6th in a time of 54.41. The 4x200 relay of Brayden Johnson, Dalton Pierce, Cisneros, and Carlisle finished 6th in 2:03. In field events, Zane Rhodes finished 1st place in the Shot Put with a throw of 38’4". Cisneros finished 5th with a throw of 35’2". Cisneros also finished 4th in the Discus with a throw of 97’4". Chase Turner finished 4th in the triple jump with a jump of 33’10".

The junior high boys will have track practice on Wednesday and Thursday mornings over spring break, starting at 9:30 a.m. each day.
