Chavela Medellin Soto

Chavela Medellin Soto, age 63, passed away at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth on February 26, 2013. Chavela was born to Pedro and Lucilla Munoz Medellin in Toledo, Ohio July 11, 1949. She married Manuel Soto Sr. of San Saba County in Fort Worth, Texas in 1974.

Chavela is survived by her parents, Eliseo and Lucilla Rodriguez; four sons, Jose (Joe) Rangel of Fort Worth, Manuel Soto, Jr. of the Austin area, Victor Soto and Johnny Ray Soto both of Grand Prairie; three daughters, Janie Jacobs of Leander, Anita Soto and Rhonda Hammit, both of Grand Prairie; brothers,David and Rudy Medellin both of Ohio, Andrew Medellin and Eliseo Rodriguez, Jr. both of Round Rock; and sisters, Betrice Luna of Ohio and Irene Washington of San Antonio; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Manuel Soto, Sr. and daughter, Erma Monroe, and her father, Pedro Munoz.

Services for Mrs. Chavela Soto were held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba with interment following at San Saba Cemetery.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Soto’s service were: Jared Rangel, Elijah Rangel, Joshua Ridley, Brian Bynes, Larry Mayer and Andrew Medellin, II.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Enrique Luna, David Medellin Jr., Joseph Garcia-Soto and Dallas Rangel.
