By the time this week’s edition of the San Saba News comes out we will only have 8 school days left before spring break! Wow, where has the year gone? But, even though spring break is just around the corner, we can’t let our focus down and begin to rest. So many important things happen after spring break that we still need to work toward! Things that students have been working for all year come to fruition after spring break.

When we return from spring break we have a big commitment to do well at the UIL academic contest and compete in One Act Play. Track, Baseball, Softball, Golf and Tennis are all still in their seasons with District competition ahead. But the most important ahead of us is to finish strong academically and do well each and every grading period. Instructional time is precious and in the spring of the year it gets harder and harder to remain focused on academics and the classroom. Students are tired and they have been working hard since August 27, the first day of school. But now is not the time to rest. We can rest when summer is here! So many opportunities exist for students to get extra help in their school work and to prepare to do well. If students are preparing for the ACT or SAT test for college entrance we have a program and help for this!!! Just ask! Students who are preparing for the STAAR and the End-of-Course Assessment - we have extra help! Just ask! Computer assisted help or face-to- face help is available! Just ask! But....don’t be surprised when students are required to come for extra help rather than being invited or asked. Mandatory attendance is required for students who need extra assistance to master the state objectives. So, as the campuses are inviting and making available tutorial assistance, know that soon this invitation may become mandatory. Please contact the campus where your child attends school for more information or with a question you may have. Please know too, that internet based programs are available for students to work at home and for you to be able to help them and see what they are studying. Just Ask! And we will fix you up!

Don’t forget about Spring Open House for all campuses on March 4!!!

Parents, let us know how we can help you the first day of school all the way until the last day of school!!
