Congratulations to Connor Hall, whose winning essay in Central Texas Electric Coopera-tive’s contest has won him a trip to Washington D.C. this summer! Connor’s essay topic was “Key Qualities of Great Leadership”. Below is an excerpt from his essay. What a great job, Connor!

“The key qualities of great leadership combine good communication skills, integrity, and vision. Strong leadership is the backbone of any organization. Good leaders contribute to the growth and prosperity of their organization, community, and environment. They delegate responsibility, give and receive respect, and are impartial in their judgment…Today’s young leaders can use the leadership qualities of communication, integrity, and vision in many ways. These qualities can be used to improve their community. Young leaders today can develop these skills by being members of associations such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4H, Honor Society, UIL, sports, and church, as well as other activities.”
