Lloyd Smith Jr. , “Sambo”, 74, of Bend, passed away on February 19, 2013 in Round Rock, Texas. Visitation was held at Heritage Funeral Home, Friday, February 22, 2013 from 5—7 p.m.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Chappel Cemetery, near Bend TX, San Saba County.

Lloyd was retired from theCity of Austin where he was a building inspector for many years. After retirement, “Sambo” moved to the home place at Bend where he enjoyed his dogs and working on the ranch.

“Sambo” was born July 4, 1938 to Lloyd Smith, Sr. and Laura Margaret Lively Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents.

“Sambo” is survived by one sister, Angie and husband, Harold Vernon of La Vernia, TX; 2 nieces, Tonya and Amanda Vernon and several cousins.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Bend.

The family asks that special memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
