The San Saba Tennis played in two tournaments last week, the JV Team played in the Fredericks-burg JV Tournament on Thursday, February 14, and the Varsity Team played in the Waco Robinson Varsity Tournament played at the Waco Regional Tennis Center.

Teams playing in the Fred-ericksburg tournament were Bandera, Canyon Lake, Center Point, Drippings Springs, Fredericksburg, Hondo, Ingram, Junction, Kerrville, Llano, Mason, Menard, and San Saba. Playing in A Boys Singles was Jantzen Bell, who lost in the consolation quarterfinals. In A Boys Doubles, Ashton Krueger and Reigan Casco lost in the consolation quarterfinals. In B Boys Doubles, Omar Argote and Roy Argote lost in the consolation finals.

Teams playing in the Waco Robinson Tournament were Centerville, Chilton, China Springs, Franklin, Granger, Liberty Hill, Lorena, Mexia, Waco Midway, Rio Vista, Waco Robinson, Rockdale, San Saba, Taylor, Thrall, Waco High School, and Whitney. The competition in this tournament was very good. Joannah Crosby and Joely Haverland won first place in #1 Girls Doubles division by knocking off the #2 seeded team from Taylor in semifinals and then defeating the #1 seeded team from Robinson in the finals. Crosby / Haverland have won all three tournaments that they have played in. Kristen Isham and Micah Cox came in 4th place in #2 Girls Doubles Division. J. T. Holland and Jairo Casco came in 6th place in #2 Boys Doubles. Alex Baker and Gunnar Hibler came in 7th place in #1 Boys Doubles. Aaron Krueger lost in the consolation quarterfinals in #1 Boys Singles. A.J. Gamboa lost in the consolation quarterfinals in #2 Girls Singles. William Cooley and Drew Daniel lost in the second round in #2 Boys Doubles.

This week the Dillos will be playing Llano in team tennis on Tuesday, February 19. We will take part varsity and jv to Llano. On Thursday, February 21, we will take the varsity and jv that did not go to Llano to the Mason Tournament. On Saturday the Varsity will travel to Leander High School and play Bellville at 8:00 a.m. and Waco Robinson at 3:00 p.m.
