When you receive a letter in the mail from someone you haven't heard from in a while or a loved one, what do you do? You very quickly open it to see what's inside. Most of the mail that is received today is through email so if you turn on your computer and see a bunch of emails, which one do you open first? I would venture to say the one from someone you know. We want to know what's inside the mail so we open it and read it.

Our walk with God is very important. He doesn't want us to be Sunday-only Christians. By that I mean on Sunday we put on the righteous suit and then take it off till next Sunday. In the meantime, we may have done things that are contrary to the Word of God. We may have lied, cheated, stolen something, committed adultery, or said vulgar things. All of these things are opposed to God's will.

Paul said that our lives are an open letter and everyone is seeing what we do. In 2 Corinthians 3:2 Paul wrote, "You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men."

When People see you and your actions do they think of God? Sometimes we act in ways that are opposed to the teachings of the scriptures. We do not give a good testimony for our Lord.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:13-16, "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. 14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven."

Jesus tells us the influence we have on others is important. Therefore we are to let our lights so shine that our good works are seen and God is glorified. Have you ever considered that the opposite of good works is bad works? And if that is what we are practicing in our lives, who is glorified? It must be Satan himself.

As we live our lives, lets make them positive influences for those around us. Let everyone see God in you.
